Who is visiting the Outernet district?
Outernet attracts a relatively young audience; the majority of those visiting are under 44, albeit with an average age of 35. Those visiting are from more affluent backgrounds; three quarters of visitors are ABC1 and income skews slightly higher than average. Outernet attracts a wide range of visitors from across the globe. However, most come from within London and its surrounding regions. Of those that are from abroad they are most likely to be from European countries like Belgium, France and Ireland.
Most visits to Outernet are spontaneous, with only a quarter of visitors planning their visit to Outernet currently. Most visits tie in with existing plans they have in the area, or are made as part of wider tourist plans. While two thirds visit with others, a third are visiting alone. This is usually driven by younger people, living in London. Those visiting as a tourist are more likely to be coming with others.
The experience at Outernet is highly enjoyable, with the vast majority reporting that they would recommend Outernet to others (and next to none having a negative experience). Half of those visiting say they have or would be likely to share content, meaning content can be broad reaching. Of those who do/are willing to share, just over half are tagging Outernet using the hashtag or location– an opportunity to encourage more to do so!
