Mixmag, the world's biggest dance music and clubbing brand, teamed up with Ballantine’s to throw a huge birthday party at Outernet featuring a wall-to-wall photo exhibition, and a stellar line-up of DJs. 40 years of Mixmag were brought to life via an immersive display of magazine covers, journeying through the history of dance music and club culture.
Four DJs provided the soundtrack, kicking off with a house set from Junior Simba. Next up, Dan Shake supplied a classic selection of party starters, before London duo Joy Anonymous took over with an hour of house and disco bangers. A spectacular set from Jyoty brought the evening to a rowdy close.
Mixmag teamed up with Ballantine’s to provide the drinks, curating a selection of whisky-based cocktails matched to classic dance music eras and pivotal figures.
The 40th-anniversary party also helped to raise money for CALM which does incredible work for suicide prevention. Suicide is the biggest killer of 15-39 year olds in the UK, and CALM exists to change that.
